Indonesia Now Spot News – Law and Juctice : Ministry of Justice and Human Rights established a team to assess the discontinuance of the remission of terrorists and criminals.
“The reviewer team, led by Director General of Correctional Untung Sugiyono,” said Minister of Justice and Human Rights (Menkumham) Patralis Akbar after attending his son’s graduation ceremony at the Hall of the University of Indonesia (UI) in Depok, West Java, on Friday afternoon.
According to him, the step was taken to follow up the approval of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono to a moratorium or discontinuance of the remission of these two types of inmates.
“We’ll take inisiatitif to assess the PP. 28 of 2006 as its legal basis,” he said.
Currently, he said, many people demand that requires no remissions granted to terrorists and criminals. Of course presidential aspirations are heard.
